Creative Impact @ Science Inc.

Crafting Bold Content to Engage a Young, Eco-Conscious Audience

Role

Branding, Design, and Marketing Intern

Industry

Food & Beverage

Duration

3 months

Science Inc. is a venture studio accelerating the growth of next-generation startups. I worked for two of their portfolio brands, Trashy (as a designer) and Final Boss Sour (as a customer advocate and collaboration strategist).

Stage 1. Market research and analysis

I began by diving deep into understanding Trashy's target demographic—a young, eco-conscious audience passionate about sustainability and healthy living. Conducted research to grasp their preferences, behaviors, and pain points regarding snack choices and sustainable consumption. Synthesized these findings to develop a strategy for creating visually engaging content that reflects Trashy's mission.

Stage 2. Concept development and Visual Strategy

I collaborated closely with the marketing and design teams to brainstorm creative concepts that aligned with Trashy's bold, playful brand identity. Developed a series of visual themes that effectively communicated the brand's ethos of upcycling imperfect produce into delicious snacks. These concepts were refined based on feedback and strategically mapped out to guide the content creation process.

Stage 3. Content Creation and Design

Using Adobe Creative Suite, I designed dynamic digital illustrations, social media graphics, and eye-catching product photography. Focused on creating bold, playful visuals that capture the essence of Trashy's irreverent tone while highlighting the appeal of its unique products. Developed a consistent visual language across platforms to enhance brand recognition and engagement.

Stage 4. User testing and Iteration

Organized internal reviews and collected feedback from team members and key stakeholders to gauge the effectiveness of the visual content. Identified areas for improvement in engagement and messaging. Iterated on design elements based on feedback, refining the graphics and photography to ensure they resonated with the target audience and effectively communicated the brand's values.

Stage 5. Content Planning and Strategy Development

Developed a comprehensive content plan for future campaigns, outlining strategies for deploying visual assets across various digital channels, including social media, email marketing, and the Trashy website. Collaborated with the marketing team to determine the optimal timing and format for each piece of content, ensuring alignment with upcoming brand initiatives. Prepared a toolkit of adaptable visuals and messaging to maintain consistency and flexibility in future campaign execution, ready to be launched when the time is right to maximize engagement and impact.
